In a “Tissue Alert” dog video shared on Instagram, a devoted Golden Retriever named Lucuma struggles to cope after her dog mom falls seriously ill. The touching clip shows the 5-year-old pup staying close to her human while she is in pain, before becoming visibly distressed when she is taken away.
The caption reads, “The unconditional love dogs have for us is truly something incredible.” The video opens with the line, “My dog comforted me through the pain… but what she did after shattered my heart.” It then shows Lucuma remaining beside her owner, who is lying on the floor and leaning against the couch.
The concerned pup gently licks her human’s hand as if trying to comfort her, prompting the woman to repeatedly say “thank you” to her companion.
